well, lets start with something light. like.... OMG! today i saw the ultimate cutie! hahahha. he was my salsa partner for some rounds like for casino rueda and bachata. he was like so gentle! haha. how sweet. and he has a nice bod. well, that's besides the point but...yeahh.. i think he is a beginner too. was about to ask him if he wants to join me and Jade in DansFlava since we need MORE guys due to the pitiful number of male salsa dancers. but boo. didn't talk to him cuz he was with his friends most of the time. and they are kinda weird. so yeah, didn't have a chance to.
ANY-O-HOW, moving on... as some of u guys out there know, today is like an open house of Jitterbugs. it is for their 4th anniversary, if i'm not wrong. so all we had to do was to pay $10 for the whole day and we can go for any classes. its just a one hour trial classes to introduce us to many genres of dances.
for me, i went to Stretch intensive, Dual Power, Grrl power, Ladies Salsa Styling, Bachata, Casino Rueda and Tap.
for stretch intensive, we had a 1 hour visit to hell. it was REALLY HORRIBLE! as in it was too hard! we almost died in there. haha. only Firdaus and Rabiah went to hip hop. but it was good in a way that it really stretches those muscles which i think lasted me for about half the day. haha. the most funny thing about it was when we had lay on our back and lift our hips to the ceiling as far as we can go. it was alright until Jessica instructed to lift one leg up towards the ceiling. there was it, my bum happily kissed the floor and stayed there. Julian was beside me and he whispered, "Germaine! get ur butt off the floor!! UP UP!" and i had to say, "I CAN'T!! JELLY LEGS!" hahahahahahha. we were laughing this off during dinner. there were more funny things but i'll just leave it unsaid here.
Dual power was not bad. Samantha was DAMN GOOD. i love the way she dance. it was very fun too. basically, dual power is like hip hop in twos. we danced to "hate that i love u- rihanna". i love the part when Awi said something about ending the dance with a ripple with ur partner and go "ahhhh.." haha.
next would be Grrl Power. its actually Girl power. Hip Hop moves are based on the more open style of the Hip-Hop you see in music videos featuring Pink, J'Lo and Janet Jackson. but showing more of girls being more powerful than how people portray girls to be in the past. like flicking of hair, sexy yet strong moves. that kinda things. i had fun here.
we went for an hour lunch break before me and Allison joined the ladies salsa styling. the moves are all very basic which i have learnt in Jason's class but with more styling. pretty fun to learn something new. yup. i even learnt the side step cha cha cha. haha. Linna was teaching in that class and i enjoy it. (: OH! she is a pole dancer and she is HOT, man. i caught a glimpse of her doing pole-licious and omg, if u think pole dancing is just some seductive dance, its more like a extreme sport. u have to be damn flexible and fit to climb and go round and round, up and down those poles.
i wanted to go for the Belly dancing but TOO TIRED. =(
intended to go to Charleston but went for Bachata instead. bachata is quite fun too! i found a video in youtube. not bad. more to the simple kind of Bachata but just as good. shall post it later.
Casino Rueda is the most enjoyable class i took today. its also salsa but in a circle. so we have cute moves like yoghurt, freeze, photo and etc etc. yoghurt is when u and ur partner jump towards each other but not too close to have a chest bump, freeze is when u do a stomp inward the circle, freeze, shake ur upper torso with ur partner, stomp again and come back up to do basics. photo is when u freeze like u are posing for a photo for like 5 counts then back to basic with the girls doing guys basic. it has been so fun. ESPECIALLY when the guys have to change partner. like when the instructor said "DUMMY!"[i think its called dummy. cuz that's what i have been hearing. haha.] BUT, after some research, i found out that its actually called "Dame otra". it gets more fun when instructions like "Dame dos" or "Dame tres" is given. "dame dos" --> guy skip a girl and go to the next "dame tres" --> guy skip 2 girls and go to the 3rd. so it gets so complicated and its really tiring for the guys. they have to run for their lives to keep up with the music while changing partners. haha. lucky for us girls, we just have to do the basics. there are fun things like Cucaracha too. haha.
