ooooooooh my.
what a day for the past 3 days
in regent, Xiu hui had to serve VIP!!!! hahaha! i sabo-ed her. so Arthur (one of the captain) appointed her. heh. she is so pai seh that she didn't want to go to the staff canteen to have dinner! haha. she looks really good in cheong sum. =)
the job in Tanglin room was much more easier cuz the room is smaller. not trying to say anything but the wedding wasn't very glam or anything. i guess the couple and their family can't afford a big one.oh well, who cares when u are married to ur love one? haha.
anyway, there were 2 boys seated on my table. they act so beng. what a big turn off la. i was so high when i was doing cocktail and ushering the guests in but after the first dish, i just got fed up with their expressions. u know, the sian sian type? like the can't be bothered and has "i don't know what the hell i'm doing here. should have been somewhere else smoking or doing something 'cool' instead of this boring place." written all over their faces. they were like slouching and eating as though they are in a coffee tiam instead of a 5 star hotel. come on man, if u have no class, at least try to act as though u have a little? and its not that i really can't stand ah bengs. in fact, some ah bengs can be quite respectable cuz they know how to conduct themselves and do things with a certain style. just that i can't stand the act bengs kind. like act but can't act? heh. remind me of someone. i think the badminton girls should know who i'm referring. hahaha! that guy who used to have 6 packs and was one of the potential singles who sir had high hopes for but lost it all cuz he thinks its so 'cool' to join the gang and gang fights when he's so scared of pain. heh. mmm. enough of that topic.
moving on..
the bride is expecting. so she has this rather big tummy. she tried hiding it beneath her shawl but it was too obvious to be covered. yup. the groom is slightly shorter. one the way home, jia lin told us about this girl who was prematurely pregnant. from what i heard, she did it with a malay guy who is like 10 years her senior. tsktsk. oh well. so they had to get married.
anyway, yesterday i worked in Raffles for the first time. i had only 2 hours of sleep before heading down to Raffles. it was super boring at first cuz we weren't assigned to do much. had to fold napkins but after awhile, it felt like factory work. haha. then we, girls, had to stand around in the kitchen while the guys bring out trays of food to the guests. we had NOTHING to do! so boring! so we had to look for things to do, like rearrange this, rearrange that. blahhh...
oh ya! wow, there are 5 chiefs for this "Wine, Food and Art" event. 2 three stars chiefs, 2 two stars chiefs, 1 one star chief. they are all from oversea and the well recommended ones. one of the chief is super good looking! he looks a little like Justin Timberlake! oh my, imagine that! hahaha! i get to see him for whatever days that are left in this week. XD haha. there are many white people working in Raffles. happy. haha. only some people there are nice. luckily, the nice people are working very closely with me so i'm alright with that.
i was appointed to serve wine in the tent that was set up beside the Raffles Grill. there are 2 girls from Finland who joined us due to the foreign exchange progamme held in Temasek Poly. one of the girl (Elaine) did the serving with me cuz only both of us handled wine before so we were excused from that boring kitchen. the tent is so GRAND! it has been air-conditioned and its big! there's a bar inside and a stage for the chief to show case his food master pieces. the guests are all CEOs from different business and very interested in wine. we served 6 kinds of wine. 4 white wine and 2 red wines. shall not elaborate further. haha. me and Elaine were so nervous that we'll spill drops of wine on the table so we went to the kitchen to practice. haha. super fun to be with her. She is going to teach me a little Spanish!!!!! XD!!! hahaha! yup. anyway, it was very fun. i get to drink a little behind the bar. not bad. The champagne is NICE! went home a little drunk and tired. zZz.
today was almost the same but i didn't work until night time. too tired. my legs are killing me. bleach. =( came home and soaked my feet. ahh... we had to polish a lot of wine and champagne glasses. shella and i went to RCA to find jia yi and her friend. wa, they are super slack there too la! haha! i like my batch of Raffles workmates. they are fun to be with. =) Mmm. i'm lazy to talk more. haha. shall go and sleep soon.
JADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just remember something! we are going to dress up on the 14th for high tea and of cuz shopping right?!?! i just remember that it is Valentine's Day! hahaha! we get to go out together after all!! wheee!!!! us and the girls. X)! i can't remember when i actually wore a dress. haha! i'm going to buy a nice high heel for myself as a reward for all the days i'm been working. XD! i'm eyeing one of the heels. i think i told u about it le ba. YAY YAY!
CAN'T WAIT CAN'T WAIT! XD!
