I was flipping through Chris' book called "How Slow Can You Waterski?" and I came across the last page which tried to explain the bittersweet feeling of saying goodbye. It talked about the natural sadness that comes with leaving another person(s) tinged with the sweet memory of the time spent together, and of course the expectation that there will be another meeting some day. The explanation is right in some ways yet it failed to capture the whole essence of parting as an altogether painful scene. I thought I'd try to describe it better but I can't, simply because its a feeling I hate to re-live time and time again.
"Why do people always leave?"
I guess we just have to believe that sometimes they come back. well, only some.
