he knew the difference between hopeless destitution and the astringent virtues of poverty. now, he's feeling the seductions of wealth. but he is a reformed smoker and alcoholic. he knows the certain fate of indulging in one cigarette, the treacherous gold fire of one cognac racing through his veins.
well, these are all in the past. this boy is starting to change and i'm feeling really proud of him. carry on the good work =)
these days are getting all but mundane. the weather is not helping in making things any better. it has been raining for days and i'm really starting to freeze out. i can't wait for the day when the sun starts warming everything up again. i miss those days of outdoor activities. my jacket isn't helping much either. brr. even Jackie (my dog) wears a doggie shirt everyday now and she looks cute in it. haha. right, i need a heater in my house. yes, its THAT cold.
went to meet Wei Ting to exchange some things with her before heading down to church.
Met Shi yu after church to return her hp. so now, peeps, don't sms to the 8something something le. cuz i wouldn't be using that number for quite some time. if there's anything, sms to the 9646 number.
church is, once again, a place where i can find peace in. a lady went up the stage to talk about how God changed her life. the way she told us her story was very funny and it simply catches our attention. here's a glimpse of it.
she, a house wife for about 25 years, wanted to join the work force after her mother passed away. she wanted to work in a pharmacy line but got rejected as they would only employ ladies the age of 18-20. Being a lady in her early 50s, she thought that there was no chance for her. somehow, there was this urge and she gave her number to the company so that they will call her if they ever need anyone. she prayed to God day and night, read His words and had faith in her heart though her mind was thinking otherwise.
the company rang her up and asked if she could come for an interview. 2 days later, she was employed. Praise the Lord. Her job requests her to stand for 8 hours the least and she could not take it. well, this was the result of playing mahjong for 6 hours weekly. haha. she told God, "Lord, thank you for the job but i can't continue. u did well in fulfilling my promise but u did not give my legs strength to take all those standing. thus, i think i would be giving up this job in a few days time." The next Sunday, God reached out. Pastor Tay asked those who have weakness in their legs to go to the front to be prayed for and she went. The next few days have been totally blessed for her as she was able to stand for 9 hours. once again, praise the Lord.
Her boss was very contented with her work and she was given 5 more counters to handle. Business wasn't exceptionally good. One day, she went to work only to find that her work place had been broke into. Everything was shattered, police was called, blablabla. She asked God, "Why Lord?" She still kept her faith in God and continue praying for a break through. One day, Pastor Tay walked past her pharmacy and he prayed for her. After he walked off, business was booming. At the end of the day, she counted the profit and to her delight, it was 5 times the usual. wow.
Moral of this story? Don't play so much mahjong if u are not very young and have to stand for hours. haha. no la, more serious stuff. Have faith in God no matter what. He will help u in ur time of need. Read his Words daily and keep a few verses from the bible in ur head and imply all those into ur daily life, then u'll be fine. =)
For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from it;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.

went to daybed with jess and hazel.
Daybed is a quaint little dandy chill spot. they play good house music.
and things look bright now. i think. it's not all that hee hee haha like what i used to be like but i'll get by.
what was once perfect shattered to bits. what molds our waxen hearts? the reality of Man is that we are fickle. we are often not rooted. we grow more steady with time.
an unfamiliar confusion, incomprehension, such as a person newly blinded may feel. my strident renunciation of material comforts and pleasures are part of my camouflage. what's behind this smoking screen? only i would know.
last week, jess, hazel, beatrice, lyn, kenny and the other bunch of guys headed down to Pitstop Cafe located at Circular Road.
Now, what's so special about this cafe? You can play board games there, and the staff there will teach you how to play it. SUPER COOL. You can eat there too, and the food is not very overly priced or anything.
You say, "Board games can play at home what..."
BUT, How many board games do you have? We need variety in life don't we! Haha. yup. And I'm officially in love with that place.
I WILL DEFINITELY GO THERE AGAIN.
The best part of my next visit? I'm going to get a membership card! So that means 10% discount!
If anyone wants to go, please contact me! I'll gladly go with you! For food and game fanatics! BAM!
my phone is going over the roof man. BAAAA BOOOOMMMMM!!! hahaha. had been sms-ing like a nutcase this month la.
last night talked to wendy on the phone until 1 plus in the morning. then kenny called so i managed to gather enough energy to talk to him until 4 am. or was it 3 plus? i'm not sure. because the funniest thing happened. i started dozing off and kenny had to yell at me to wake me up. after what seems to be like 5 mins later, i heard him breathing hard on the speaker. HAHAHA! that dumb dumb fell asleep lo! same thing for me, i woke him up. then like 10 mins later, both of us fell asleep. haha. this morning, when i woke up, i found my handphone still in my hand and my battery was like close to dying. he was still on the line lo! and yes, still sleeping. haha. funny friend of mine.
